# Edinburgh Cancer Informatics

> Edinburgh Cancer Informatics (ECi) is the Cancer Information Programme delivered by NHS Lothian Cancer Services at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, working with the University of Edinburgh's Institute of Genetics and Cancer and the Cancer Research UK Scotland Centre. The programme applies data science to build a rapid-learning system for cancer care, using real-world data for real-world evidence generation.

ECi serves patients across the South East Scotland Cancer Network (NHS Lothian, NHS Fife, NHS Dumfries and Galloway, NHS Borders). Work spans data harmonisation, cancer registry linkage, the OMOP common data model, real-world evidence analysis, and open training resources in R and statistics for oncology research. ECi is an EHDEN data partner and part of the HDR UK Hub for Cancer, DATA-CAN.
